On Friday, Delhi’s court ordered the release of social activists Medha Patkar, and the LG Delhi LG was arrested in the event of defamation related to VK Saxen.
After the arrest, a sacet was made before the arrangement of the order (NBW) issued against it.
The judge for the next session (ASJ) VIPin Kharb ordered the release of Medha Patkar on the equipment of the probation bond and ordered the amount of compensation after her advisor presented in court that “I, Medha Patkar, received time within 3 May, approved on April 23.”
However, the counselor of VK Saxeny Gajinder Kumar has submitted: “I do not accept the amount of compensation; I will deal with my legal means.”
After hearing the filing of the Court, the Court granted a permit for a probation bond and storing the amount of compensation and ordered Patkara’s release, subject to the above conditions.
23rd April, the court issued an incapable order against Patkar through the Police Commissioner in Delhi for failure to comply with the previous order.
“The publication of NBWS against Medha Patkar, through the Police Commissioner’s Office, for the next date,” the judge ordered another meeting of Vishal Singh.
Previously, it was convicted and released and ordered to save the amount of compensation and provide probation bond.
Last year in July, Medha Patkar was convicted in the event of a defamation of VK Saxen in 2000.
The court also noted: “Instead of appearing in court and following an order for punishment from April 8, 2025, the convict is missing and intentionally failed to observe the punishment and take advantage of probation with the reservation of the amount of compensation.”
“The intention of condemning Medha Patkar is obvious: intentionally violates the court order, avoids discovering in court, and also avoids accepting the conditions of punishment against it. There is no order to suspend the punishment approved by April 8, 2025,” Asj Vishal Singh said.
“This court is left without the possibility to enforce the production of convicted Medha Patkar through the coercive rules,” he added.
The Court will listen to the case next 3 May 2025.
