The course, which the University of Madras’s criminology department started 20 years ago, received rewards for its students.
The department created a postgraduate diploma in the field of cyber forensic and information security in 2004 for corporate officials, judges and police, says R. Thilagaraj, former head of the department and founder of the course. Next year it was transformed as a PG grade due to a great reaction.
“Cyber security is born at that time. Some of the organizations we visited asked why they need it,” he recalls. In 2007, when the first dose graduated, the company hesitated with their employment.
S. LATHA, current director of the Cyber Forensic and Information Security Center, and the founder of the course says that the first dose of graduates is now employed in international banks. So far, up to 750 students have completed.
In 2009, the Center was upgraded as the Center of Excellence with the Government Grant of Crore 1 GBP and with the consent of the then Chancellor of Governor became an independent department, he adds.
The teaching fee is 8 500 GBP. The course includes all aspects of cyber criminology, information security, digital forensic and information security audit including the latest trends in domains.
“The course offers 100% placement in corporate houses, software companies, companies for information security, banks, telecommunications industries and financial institutions.” Our graduates are based on Google, Ernst and Young, Deloitte, HCI, Infosys and even government agencies, ”says Mrs. Latha.
Students participate in research in vital areas of cyber security and digital forensic. Recently, a student was awarded the Money to identify the authenticity of videos, audio and AI generated images. “Many students worked on identifying phishing links, fake profiles, attacks on ransomware,” says Mrs. Latha.
The outline is designed by experts in the field, who also take courses in addition to involvement in the location. “Cyber crimes on the rise and in most cases in the future are likely to be related to computer crime, the government should consider recruiting at least a percentage of police with a master’s degree in cyber forensic and information security in the technical wing,” he adds.
Students such as Mohamed Thalal, Farheen Fathima and Vikram T, who graduated from BCA and joined the program, have now been assured a nice salary package during the location of the campus.
Students work on the project Every semester and their latest dissertation is based on real -time problems in society. Having a team experts help students understand real life problems, says C. Vishnupriya, a guest faculty. “They also appreciate it when students come up with a solution,” he says.
