“The CPI did not seek guidance or permission from anyone”

The Communist Party of India (CPI) does not need to seek guidance or permission from anyone to take its own decisions and nothing of the kind has happened, the party said in a resolution passed at the end of its two-day executive committee meeting held in Coimbatore, in an apparent reference to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president MK Stalin’s recent remarks that Kazhagam’s former alliance partners had consulted him with DDM’s Vettrim before consulting him for Tamettrihagaming support DDM. (TVK).

The political position of the CPI is to protect the interests of the working people, defeat the communal-fascist forces and promote social justice. TVK emerged as the single largest party in the assembly elections in the state securing the highest number of votes and seats from the people. However, instead of inviting TVK to form the government, the governor tried to install a BJP government indirectly, the CPI alleged.

The CPI State Executive Committee has decided to extend external support to the TVK in forming the government to prevent such outcomes, the party said in its resolutions.

If the TVK government engages in actions that are against its political stance, the CPI will join the protests of the affected people.

The CPI will organize protests in all district headquarters of the state on June 29 against the “anti-people” policies of the central government and demanding a complete waiver of farm loans.

The Union government must withdraw the four labor codes and the Tamil Nadu government must declare that the labor codes cannot be implemented in the state, he added.
