The court sent four people to 14-day judicial custody in the murder case
A dispute that escalated into a long-standing feud between two families and a murder has landed four people in jail, with a Hyderabad court on Monday sending the accused to 14-day judicial custody in connection with the murder case.
The accused, Shaik Zahed alias Sohail, 28, along with three accomplices — Zeeshan Nawab alias Jaber, 30, Amer Nawab alias Laddu, 26, and Nafeez Sultana, 48 — allegedly murdered an electrician at Kumarwadi in Golconda on June 3, 12, and on June 12, the police arrested Gola in a court. Monday.
The victim, Shaik Mahboob alias Masood Chandi, 26, an electrician, had married Rukshar Begum in January 2025, police said, adding that Rukshar’s brother Zahed opposed the marriage, leading to disputes between the two families.
Police said tensions rose further after the couple gave birth to a son in December. Earlier this week, Zahed along with family members allegedly went to Mahboob’s residence, fought with him and took Rukshar to their house. During the confrontation, Zahed allegedly threatened not to allow his sister to continue living with Mahboob.
On June 12, around 3:00 p.m., Zahed allegedly arrived at Mahboob’s house along with his associates armed with an iron barbell, a knife and wooden sticks. The accused allegedly barged into the house and assaulted Mahboob. Zahed allegedly hit the victim on the head with a pole while Jaber attacked him with a knife, according to police.
Laddu and Nafeez Sulthana allegedly attacked him with wooden sticks. Mahboob collapsed during the attack and died at the scene.
His father, Shaik Ismail, 68, the driver of the car that tried to intervene, also suffered injuries to his right hand and face, police said.
Based on Ismail’s complaint, the Golconda police registered a case and started an investigation. A special team led by Detective Inspector Golconda Police Station under the supervision of Syed Fiaz traced and arrested the accused.
Police have recovered an iron barbell and a knife allegedly used in the murder. Further investigation is underway.
