The first district and meeting court, Hubballi, rejected a lawsuit about bail on Monday of the main charge of the murder of Nehamath Fayaz Khondunayak.
The defendant’s defense attorney filed an action on bail according to Section 483 BNS and after hearing the arguments of Judge Pallavi BR on Monday approved the order of the dismissal of bail and sent the case under 6 August for the date of the court proceedings.
Non Hiremath, the first year of the MCA student and the daughter of the Congress Council of Niranjna Hiremata, was charged with Fayaz on the University campus in April 2024.
Fayaz, who fled the scene, was caught on the same day. The shocking murder caused extensive convictions and protest against the “love jihad” across the country.
The case was subsequently handed over by the CID by the State Government.
