The Bengalur Court (September 30, 2025) reserved its order on October 9 on October on a petition concerning prison facilities provided by actors Darshan, who is currently filed in Bengalur prison as accused in the case of the murder of Renukaswama.
During the hearing, the Prison Authorities submitted report 57. The meeting and the judge listened to extensive arguments from both sides.
During hearing, the acting council, the defending champion, was pushing, pushed on Darshan to move to another cell. He claimed that his client had been excessive restrictions.
“Many VIPs were trapped. Were they all got the same kind of security? Why is there so much security for Darshan?”. He also asked why his client was held in quarantine for 45 days, when the prison manual mentions only 14 days.
He also quoted treatment with other prisoners. “Look at Umesh Reddy (convicted rapist) that was given – it is possible. If necessary, I can submit documents,” he said.
The special prosecutor (SPP) Prasanna Kumar, against the petition, urged the advice to be specific. “My dear friend, just tell us what device you want. We already provide what is needed. Why this argument for that?”

The judge also intervened and asked Sunil to limit his arguments. “Ask what you want. We don’t have time for it; there’s a different job,” the judge said.
Mr. Sunil, against SPP, claimed that a new law was created that did not exist. He insisted that the term “quarantine” does not appear in the prison manual. “If this word was there, I would withdraw the case right away,” he said.
SPP pointed out that “quarantine” appears in the manual.
After hearing both parties, the court reserved its order.
