The Commander of the US Pacific Command will visit India from October 3

Commander of the US Pacific Command, Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, will visit India from Saturday (October 3, 2026) to Thursday (October 8, 2026) to promote the major US-India defense partnership and deepen military cooperation between the two countries.
According to the US Embassy in India, during his visit, Admiral Paparo is expected to engage with his Indian counterparts on a number of shared security priorities, including digital transformation and emerging technologies, regional strategic stability, defense, energy resilience and the challenges posed by an increasingly competitive environment.
The visit comes amid expanding defense and security cooperation between India and the US, with both sides seeking to strengthen interoperability and cooperation across domains, including maritime security and emerging technologies.
“From emerging technologies to maritime security, the United States and India are building a defense partnership equipped to meet the challenges of the future,” the US said.
Admiral Papara’s visit also underscores Washington’s continued engagement with India and its continued presence and interests in the Indian Ocean region.
US Pacific Command, responsible for military operations in the Indo-Pacific, plays a key role in Washington’s engagement with regional partners on maritime security, strategic stability and emerging security issues.
