Mada’s Poked streets around the Arunachaleswara temple have been converted into specific sections and the ongoing work on the installation of LED street headlights on both sides of the sections will be completed by the end of October.
Officials of state motorways, which carried out the 17-Crore project, stated that specific streets Mada would provide devoted relief from potholes. “Work on the pavement of Mada streets has been completed. The trenches on both sides of the section are dug to make the lady cables for street headlights. The sections will be ready for use at the end of the month (October),” said S. Anbaras, a special engineer assistant, a state highway (Tiruvannamalai).
The Minister of Public Work and the EV Velu motorway checked this work on Thursday. He was accompanied by a representative of the lecturer of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu, K. Pitchandi and collector K. Tharpagaraj.
“Operation on key sections, including Mada streets, should be controlled and illegal parking is kept under control. The running drainage work with rainwater should be completed in front of the Karthigai Deepam festival,” said V. Shyamala, resident.
The motorway officials said that about 300 street headlights would be installed on the streets of MADs and laid tiled sidewalks on extended sections.
A reverse osmosis plant will also be set up near Rajagopuram temple. It will have a storage capacity of 1,000 liters. Currently, devotees have to go to Kamai Salai, about 600 meters from the temple, to drinking water.
Damaged streets MADA were financed as part of the Road Traffic Development project of the main minister (CMRDP) 2024-25, from 7 meters to 12 meters.
Rainwater outflows also spread to release flood water and prevent the city from flooding during the monsoon. Each drain is three feet wide and four feet. Between the drain and the path was provided a pit for the location of the used lines – including electric lines and internet cables.
