Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has decided to upgrade his camp office at Dr. Human Resource Development Institute. Marri Channa Reddy for high security features and related infrastructure.
The state government has floated tenders for the project, estimated to cost ₹9.08 crore, to improve security features in line with high security standards for high-level government meeting venues. Tenders are invited for providing compound wall with accordion wire, containers, guard towers, furniture and other security measures along with flooring and ramp on west road for VVIP guest house at MCRHRD campus.
The e-procurement platform invites tenders from contractors who are registered with the state government and the government has set a deadline of 24 months to complete the works. The last date for submission of tender documents through the state government’s e-procurement platform is March 4 by 4:30 p.m. This will be followed by the opening of the technical offer on the same day at 5:00 p.m. and on March 6 at 1:00 p.m.
According to the tender documents, MVRRZ organized several high-level reviews, administrative consultations and policy meetings. Security planners believed that elevated watchtowers would allow surveillance from vantage points to detect suspicious activity early, while increased border protection would help prevent unauthorized entry. The presence of VVIP accommodation and major meeting places with the same complex further strengthened the case for higher standards of protection comparable to those applied in central government facilities.
The government acknowledged the public debate the decision had sparked, with some questioning whether additional spending was necessary when security staff and camera systems were already in place. “However, others argued that the upgrading of facilities used by top constitutional officials was guided by expert threat assessments and protocol requirements rather than routine administrative decisions,” the government said.
The city’s transformation into one of the fastest-growing and most investment-friendly in the country has reflected sustained public investment, institutional reforms and long-term urban planning. “The proposed upgrades and development highlight the government’s focus on administrative efficiency, public safety and strategic metropolitan growth,” he said.
