
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan flagged off the new vehicles inducted into the state police in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan flagged off 146 vehicles that have been inducted into the Kerala Police at a ceremony at the Special Armed Forces (SAP) Parade Ground on Monday.
The new fleet includes sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and motorcycles, which are expected to strengthen police and highway police patrols even in difficult and hilly terrains and increase operational mobility.
The vehicles will be deployed at various police stations, control stations and highway patrol units across the state, an official release said.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also presented the Best Police Station 2024 award to Muhamma Police Station in Alappuzha. Kodungalloor police station in Thrissur and Bekal police station in Kasaragod bagged the second and third prizes.
Ravada State Police Chief A. Chandrasekhar; Additional Directors General of Police (ADGP) S. Sreejith, P. Vijayan, H. Venkatesh and Dinesh Kashyap; and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
