The Hand Hand (HHF) Foundation, in cooperation with the local community social group, launched a special clinic of fever in the heart of BT Nagar, Mg Nagar and Hakeemphet Kunta, facing water and vector diseases.
The clinic, which works between 15:00 and 21:00 for three to four days a week, is occupied by a doctor, nurse and pharmacist. Free dengue tests and complete blood profiles (CBP) are offered, while complicated cases are referred to the GOLCONDA hospital or higher centers depending on the severity.
“During the first week, the clinic received more than 300 patients, most of whom suffered from viral fever, cough, cold and physical pain. The population who once spent up to 1,200 GBP, up to £ 1,500 to visit a doctor, now have access to treatment without financial burden.”
The organization also plans to replicate the model in other vulnerable city pockets, including Ganganagar and Amanagar in Yakutpura. The widespread model of health provides clinic of fever with community reach of local volunteers and recommendations for government hospitals for permanent care.
