
The city chairman of Thrikkara Radhamani Pillai rejected the audit report on the municipal accounts 2023-24 and questioned the intentions for publishing the report before being verified by all documents submitted by the city authorities.
The opposition parties called for a special meeting of the Council to discuss a report noted that CRORE 7.5 GBP, which the civil authorities received on different occasions, were not charged. However, the opposition leader in the Council, MK Chandrababa of CPI (M), claimed that the accusation of the municipality was unfounded and that his account was missing money. He said that there were similar cases in the past. He pointed to Onam celebrations, which have been held in the last two years, during which he claimed, municipal funds were abused, which was also concerned that were also raised at the last audit of accounts.
Mr. Chandrababa said that the opposition would ask the ruling council to convene members of the Council to discuss the problems raised in the audit report.
Mrs. Pillai, on the other hand, expressed the certainty that she would be able to take into account every rupee of the spent municipality for various purposes and killed a report on an audit that, as she said, without incorporating the clarification submitted by the city authorities.
