The Chief Minister of Pinarayi Vijayan seemed to have postponed politics and focused on the developmental priorities of Kerala in his interactions with the Union Cabinet members in Nový Delhi on Thursday (October 9, 2025).
Mr. Vijayan, who led the Minister’s Delegation, which consisted of the Minister of Finance KN Balagopal, Tourism and Minister PWD PA Mohamed Riyas and a number of higher bureaucrats, conducted a discussion with the Minister of Trade Unions for Home and Cooperation AMIT Shah; Minister of Transport Transport and National Motorway Nitin Gadkari; and Minister of Health of the Union JP Nadda. Mr. Vijayan is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modim on Friday.
Vijayan said that “he submitted a memorandum that indicates key proposals to strengthen internal security and the development of Kerala”. He also emphasized the need for increased coastal security, due to the coast of 640 km to 640 km.
He also said that Kerala must urgently modernize their emergency services and forensic infrastructure. Mr. Vijayan also asked Mr. Shah to remove Kannur and Wayanad from the list of districts affected by the left wing of the extremsm-or-a-heated in the central government.
At his meeting with Mr. Nadd, the main minister, Kerala promoted the case of the National Institute for Geriatric Care, due to the aging population of the state. He also repeated Keral’s long -term demand for all India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), due to the leadership of the state in health care.
Mr. Vijayan and Mr. Riyas also interact with Mr. Gadkari. They outlined the steps that Kerala took to speed up road infrastructure, including the delayed NH-66 project. He was also looking for a penalty of other vital courses, including the proposed Thiruvananthapuram Ring Road.
Previously, during the interaction with the media in Nový Delhi, Mr. Riyas sharply came to the question of whether two ministers of the Union of Kerala, Suresh Gopi and George Kurian have contributed significantly to the Parley of the State with the center of various aspects, including tourism and development of NH-66, among other problems with urgent.
