The central team will survey the land in Telangana Kothagud for the airport on September 7

Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao with Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu in New Delhi on September 2, 2026

A technical team from the Center would survey four to five plots of land at Bhadradri Kothagudem in Telangana on September 7, 2026 to verify their suitability for setting up an airport there. This was after plots in two localities in the district were found unviable due to technical reasons.

The central team will review the geographical, climatic conditions and technical feasibility required for setting up airports on five plots of land.

Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu informed Minister of State for Agriculture Tummal Nageswara Rao about the proposed visit when he met the former in New Delhi on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), according to a press release.

The Union Minister has assured to take further steps to create transport infrastructure if the team’s report is favourable, Mr Rao said. He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy may discuss the proposals for airports at Mamnoor (Warangal) and Adilabad on Wednesday (September 2, 2026).
