New Delhi (Reuters) – Madhya Pradesh, the middle Indian state, ensured the lowest Indian price for the purchase of solar energy supported by the battery storage at the Auction of Clean Energy, said the Supreme Civil Service in an agreement that could transform the states buying power.
Ceigall India and ACME Solar won the offer of clean energy menu Madhya Pradesh to 2.70 rupees (about 3 American cents) for KWH and 2.764 rupees per kWh, said on Saturday the official.
The lower price for which solar energy can be provided by storing batteries could determine the precedent for other countries, showing that renewable storage energy can be cheaper than coal, said Manu Srivastava, the highest official at the state department and renewable energy energy.
The project has two units, each supplying 220 megawatts of energy during sun -clocks using solar panels and in the evening drawing energy from batteries charged with solar energy.
In the morning before the sun charged the panels, the units draw power from the same batteries that recharge the cheaper night electricity from the grid.
The State plans to store projects for longer and its aim is to offer 24 -hour renewable energy for rates comparable to coal energy, Srivastava said.
Lower prices come when India rapidly increases its capacity to renewable energy sources to expand the capacity of non -sailing fuels to 500 GW by 2030.
Coal energy, however, remains central to Earth’s energy strategy due to the need for stable energy during the non -volley lessons and the absence of viable and available storage projects.
