The center would release funds for the construction of rural roads in Bihar as soon as the state government sent its proposal and conducted a survey, said the Minister for the Development of the Rural Kamlesh Paswan on Wednesday (July 9, 2025).
The construction survey of 45,000 km of rural roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), estimated at the cost of 76,000 crore, is currently taking place in the fourth phase of the project, Paswan said, adding that PMGsy is a continued process that is performed in phases.

“As soon as the state sends its report on the survey, the center will release funds. Jammu and Kashmir, the territory of the Union, were the first to send their report on the survey and issued funds. I would ask the Bihar government officials to send a state survey.
The State Minister of the Union met with the Minister of Rural Development Bihar Shravan Kumar; Minister of rural theses Ashok Choudhara; Minister of Rural Development Department Loking Kumar Singh; and other officials of the Government of the Higher State.
“Ministers and Bihar officials provided their proposals as well as certain MGNGA requirements (Mahatma Gandhi’s guarantee for rural employment), PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) and roads.
In the last 11 years, the central government has conducted a lot of programs and projects led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to realize the dream “Viksit Bharat”, said and added that the unprecedented work has been completed in the last 11 years, whether in the interconnection of aviation, hospital or other sectors.
“There are dozens of Vande Bharat trains across the country. The Prime Minister has visited Bihar more than 51 times (over the last 11 years),” Paswan said, claiming that Bihar had a bright future.
The issue of outstanding fees of 200 Crore for MGNGA was caused by it, said Mr. Skravan Kumar and urged the Union government to first release state fees.
Before the Minister of the Union, the allocation of the remaining houses to be built for people belonging to extremely back grade (EBC), planned caste (SCS) and planned tribes (STS) were also submitted, said Mr. Skravan Kumar.
Bihar had 94 families of Lakh’s homeless, he said, adding that the number is likely to increase with the center of release the criteria for using the house under PMay.
The Bihar government built 6,800 courses throughout the state under MGNGA, and the center was also asked to release funds for it, said Mr. Shravan Kumar.
