
New Delhi: In further efforts to expand the reach of government financial inclusion systems across the country, the Ministry of Finance has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at achieving saturation at the Gram Panchayat (GP) and the city local authorities (ULB).
The aim of the campaign, which will take place from 1 July to 30 September, is to cover all 270,000 GPS and ULB in India. It seeks to expand the awareness of banking services to citizens and explain how individuals can ensure their financial future and the future of their family members.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Finance, a campaign for financial inclusion (FI) was launched in 33 locations across the country. These events have seen participation from public representatives, state government officials, SLBC consults, bankers and recipients. In Gujarat, the main minister dealt with the event practically.
During this three-month period, the campaign will focus on ensuring that all the holders of the Savings Layers of Bank Accounts are completed in targeted villages and cities.
Another key objective is to open bank accounts for adult non -banking under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). The campaign will also promote entry in the key schemes of social security supported by the government, such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bim Yojan (PMJJby), Pradhan Mantri Surraksha Bim Yojan (PMSby) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
Along with this effort, the campaign will educate citizens by means of information about the prevention of digital fraud, explain how to gain access to unsolicited deposits and lead people through complaint procedures. Officials also help to update nominations on bank accounts anywhere.
The first day of the campaign was carried out in 2,087 gram Panchayats across the country. These were given a strong reaction from recipients, reflecting the growing public interest in financial services and awareness.
Efforts to expand the reach of the financial integration schemes come as a result of the review of the Ministry of Finance, which found that private banks are still lagging behind the service of these programs. Then the Ministry urged both private and public sectoral banks to increase their efforts to improve coverage and service.
In addition to PMJDY, PMJJB, PMSBY and APY, the wider campaign is also trying to raise awareness of other financial integration programs, including Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojan (PMMY), build India, Atmanirbhar Nidhi) and PM Vishwakarma.
During the inspection meeting held on Monday, the Minister of Financial Services M. Nagaraja emphasized the importance of the rapid settlement of claims within the Jansuraksha programs. He also emphasized the need to expand the banking infrastructure in rural and northeastern regions and noted that India has achieved significant progress in strengthening social security and deepening the financial integration through government flag initiatives.
