The Center is sanctioning one more incentive of ₹ 175 cr. on TG for AgriStack implementation

HYDERABAD

The Center has given an incentive of ₹ 175 crore to Telangana for completing the first milestone in the implementation of AgriStack, a digital platform that will bring together all stakeholders to improve agriculture in the country and enable better results and outcomes for farmers through data and digital services, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said.

This is in addition to the ₹ 424 crore incentive already sanctioned by the Center to the state for completing the farmer register. As part of AgriStack implementation, Telangana has completed a milestone of AgriStack based fertilizer distribution system.

The minister said here on Monday that a communication sent by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare stated that the proposal sent by Telangana met the standards and guidelines laid down by the Center and hence an incentive of ₹ 175 crore was sanctioned under Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) for 2026-27.

The incentive was approved under SASCI Part VII – Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Agriculture – AgriStack. A total of ₹13,000 crore has been allocated to DPI, of which ₹10,000 crore has been allocated to priority use cases with support from AgriStack. Further, out of the allocation of ₹ 10,000 crore, ₹ 5,000 crore has been earmarked for implementation of AgriStack based fertilizer distribution system.

The AgriStack system would enable transparency in implementation of farmer welfare schemes by linking details of farmers, extent of harvest, crops grown, fertilizers supplied digitally, the minister added.
