July 11 Center extended the term of office of the Minister of the Interior of the Union Govind Mohan to 22nd August next year, according to the official order.

“The Cabinet (ACC) Committee (ACC) approved Mohan’s service expansion as a domestic secretary after the date of his supplementary pension insurance on September 22, 2026, or to other orders, in terms of the provisions of the basic rules or Personists of the Personnen agency from 1958.”
The rules have the provisions for the expansion of the services of these officers.
With this extension, Mohan will have two years of possession in a key post, which is entrusted, among other things, to ensure internal security matters.
Who is Govind Mohan?
Mohan, a seasoned bureaucrat, was also a key government officer during the Covid-19 pandemic and had the task of supervising the decisions taken for different protocols and ensuring smooth coordination with states.
Before joining MHA, Mohan worked as a common secretary, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and at the Ministry of Finance from August 2017 to May 2018. In 2015 he also worked as the main commissioner for resident Sikkim.
Mohan worked as Minister (Economic), Indian Embassy, Washington DC, USA from July 2012 to August 2015. Previously worked as a joint secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat from January 2011 to July 2012
