CBI officials on Thursday (January 15, 2026) conducted searches at various locations in Kolkata in connection with a bank fraud case, officials said.
The searches were conducted at the businessman’s residence in New Alipore township and New Town near the city, among others, they said.
Five teams of the agency were conducting the search, they added.
“The aim of the coordinated operation is to collect documentary evidence and other materials important for the investigation,” the officer said.
The primary objective is to trace the flow and end use of funds allegedly involved in financial fraud, he said.
A large number of Central Force personnel are accompanying the CBI officers to ensure that the search operation is not disrupted, he added.
The searches were initiated after receiving specific leads related to the case, the officer said.
