The case of Nimisha Priya: The execution of Nimisha Priya, the nurse Keraral in the series of death in Yemen since 2020, was postponed 15 July, the day before the planned date.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Chanddy said after the execution was stopped and added that the governor had addressed foreign government, entrepreneurs and officials.
“He did whatever he could,” the MLA congress said after the execution was postponed.
Chanddy, the son of the late Minister Kerala Oommen Chanda, met with the Governor of Keraly Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar on Wednesday to seek urgent intervention. During a meeting in Raj Bhavan, he was accompanied by his mother Mariyamma Oommen. The family took this matter from moral responsibility and remembered that the late Oommen Chanda personally defended for the release of Nimisha Priya in recent days.
“Appa (father) gave this question a priority in the middle of his own health fighting. He spoke to all who visited him about the intervening case of Nimisha,” he said after the meeting. The leader of the congress veteran, Oommen Chanda, died in July 2023 at the age of 79.

Nimisha Priya, 38, was convicted of the murder of her Yemeni business partner in 2017. In 2020 she was sentenced to death and her last appeal was rejected in 2023. He is currently imprisoned in prison in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen.
Who is Chandy Oommen?
Chanddy Oommen, 39, is an Indian lawyer, lecturer and congress of the MLA, who since 2023 practices the right at the Supreme Court in India. Since 2023 he has been a reigning member of the Kerala legislative Assembly.
Chanda was the chairman of the National Field Cells of the Indian Youth Congress. On September 9, 2024, the Indian government appointed an Oommen for an emphanced advocate, who represented the Indian National Motorway Office in the Kerala courts.
