The Carmelite Catholic Association (CCA), Mysuru, organized its 33rd annual carol singing competition at the Teresian College auditorium here on Sunday.
Organized to promote the spirit of Christmas through music and harmony, the day-long event featured competitions in 12 categories, from pre-primary students to college teams and religious congregations. Several teams presented carols in English, Kannada and other regional languages.
Winners in various categories received trophies and cash prizes, while the institution with the highest cumulative points was awarded the Champions Trophy. Each participating choir consisted of between 5 and 50 members who performed carols expressing messages of peace, joy and unity, according to the CCA.
The association expressed optimism that the event will lead the community to celebrate the spirit of Christmas through music, joy and togetherness.
