The police said an electrical short circuit may be the reason for the accident.
A 43 -year -old man escaped an unharmed car that he traveled to set fire to Alangayam Main Road near Vaniyambadi in Tirupatura on Sunday.
The police said G. Kandan, a native of Tirupatura, traveled to Bengalur as he noticed the smoke from the bonnet. He immediately got out of the car. The incident occurred around 16:00
Before the firefighters from Vaniyambadi rejected the fire, the car was completely gutted. Mr. Kandan was sent to the Taluk Government Hospital for medical control. The police removed the burnt vehicle from the road to restore traffic movement on the section. The police said an electrical short circuit may be the reason for the accident. The case was registered by the Alangayam Police. The probe is running.
