
The cabinet meeting approved the founding of the court in Kalamassers. The decision was taken to obtain 27 acres of land held by HMT for the project. The Minister of Law P. Rajeeve said that Kalamassery is the most suitable place for the judiciary, with regard to its availability for all parts of the population, easy travel and geographical importance of this area.
The cabinet meeting was provided by a major approval of the project in Kalamassery. This step is a continuation of the decision taken under the annual meeting of the main minister and the main judge.
The home department task was included in the initial steps to implement the system. As part of this, Mr. Rajeeve and Judge Muhammad Mushtaq, Bech Kurian Thomas, Raja VijayaraGhavan and Satish Nainan visited the land in Kalamassers. Details of the project were prepared after this visit.
The department of public works was prepared by a preliminary proposal of the court, which will also include the Keral High Court. The judiciary is spreading to 27 acres of land and is expected to be international modern systems and facilities.
The judicial city is proposed to include the basic principles of the Constitution. It will have three towers, conceptualizing articles 14, 19 and 21, which guarantee fundamental rights to equality, freedom and life. The main tower will have 7 floors, while the other two towers will have 6 floors each.
The judicial city will have a number of facilities such as 61 court halls, including the main judge, the registrar’s office, auditorium, rooms for various committees, administrative wing facilities, library block, arbitration center, recruitment cell, etc. The project was estimated at 1,000 crore, including land and land construction. The proposal for the new building came from the Supreme Court because the current High Court faces restrictions.
