The state cabinet on Wednesday approved the setting up of new fire stations at Mavoor, Neriyamangalam, Cheemeni and Rajakkad along with the required locations.
18 posts have been approved for the fire station in Mavoor. For fire stations at Neriyamangalam, Cheemeni and Rajakkad, the government has approved the creation of the following posts for each station: Station Officer and Assistant Station Officer (three each), Senior Fire and Rescue Officer (four) and Fire and Rescue Officer (Driver) (one). Any additional jobs required will be identified by regrouping.
The cabinet also approved the creation of 20 posts of police constables (drivers). In addition, two Assistant Professor posts will be created in the Department of Forensic Sciences at Calicut University. The decision was taken on the recommendation of the secretary and the chief of state police.
