
The Indian Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the Badvel-Nellore project a four-lane highway project along with two Indian multitracking projects of Indian railways in Maharařší and Madhya Pradesh, according to the official announcement.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting that approved projects at CCEA on Wednesday 28 May 2025.
Badvel-Nelore Corridor
The government approved the construction of the four-lane Badvel-Nelore highway on Wednesday. The project will cost £3 653.10 crore, expanded to 108.134 km in Andhra Pradesh.
“The Cabinet Committee, Chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, approved the construction of the 4-prach Badvel-Nelore corridor with a length of 108.134 km £3,653,10 Crore in Andhra Pradesh on NH (67) in design-finance-finance-operate-Transfer (DBFOT), ”the government said in an official edition.
The aim of the Highway project is to connect three industrial corridors in Andhra Pradesh and positively influence the Indian logistics index (LPI).
The project will start from the village of Gopavaram on the National Highway (NH) 67 and ends at the Krishnapatnam intersection on NH-16. The government is also trying to reduce the travel distance to the port of Krisanpatnam by 33.9 km from the current 142 km to 108.13 km.
“The project with 108.134 km will create about 20 lake men of direct employment and 23 lake male days of indirect employment. The project will also evoke additional job opportunities due to an increase in economic activity near the proposed corridor,” they said in a press release.
Multitracking projects of Indian railways
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday 28 May 2025 also approved two Indian multitracking projects in the railway to speed up the transport of passengers and goods in the Mahara and Madhya Pradesh.
According to government data, it is estimated that the projects will almost stand £3 399 crore and is expected to be completed by 2029-30.
Both multitracking projects will include four districts across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and its aim is to increase the Indian railway network by 176 km because it combines nearly 784 villages with a population of around 19.74 Lakh.
“These are the basic routes for the transport of commodities such as coal, cement, jumping, gypsum, fly ash, vessels, agricultural commodities and oil products, etc. The result of official release will be an addition to the official government.
Depending on the issue, the project is expected to generate almost 74 lamps during the construction period during the construction period.
