Mourinho’s side were 3-1 down with seven minutes remaining before they turned the game around. In his post-match press conference, Mourinho questioned why the decision was announced so close to kick-off, saying it disrupted the team’s preparations.Mourinho said: “Do you think it is normal that a player of the Spanish team who has to play a game that is also important for Spanish football, that two hours before the game the player knows that he has been banned for four matches?“Couldn’t they do it now? Couldn’t they do it tomorrow morning? Do we have to come by bus and almost arrive at the stadium when we find out that Vinicius has a four-match ban?”Mourinho added: “They are doing things shamelessly now. The cat is out of the bag now. Two hours before the game, the player has to know he has a four-match ban.”
