The order was issued on the basis of the relevant parts of the Mahashtra Police Act. The Directive covers all public and private spaces across Brihan Mumbai and will be recovered for the entire 30 -day period, including initial and end data.
The ban comes against the background of increased security measures across Mahashtra. On May 12, the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired at a high level of meetings with higher military officials, Navy, Air Force and State Agency to review coordination, news and cyber security sharing. Earlier, May 9, ordered the police, administrative and coastal bodies to stay in high readiness, perform false exercises at the level of the district, set up war rooms and coordinated with hospitals during the outages.
