The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a two-day workshop on water resources chaired by its president Nitin Nabin and attended by 25 ministers from 14 states the party rules. The workshop was held at the BJP headquarters and concluded on Thursday (September 3, 2026).
Addressing a press conference, senior BJP leader Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said the event was organized by the BJP’s Good Governance and Policy Research Department.
Increasing efficiency
“Experts provided guidance on efficient functioning of ministries, India’s water landscape and organization-government relations. The objective of the workshop was to increase efficiency of ministers, help governments achieve better results and strengthen the goal of good governance,” he said.
Mr. Sahasrabuddhe has been overseeing the department for more than a decade. It also played a role in the BJP and National Democratic Alliance Chief Ministerial Conferences.
He said that the Union government had earlier called a conference of water resources ministers from all states. “After its conclusion, this meeting and workshop started yesterday with the speech of BJP national president Nitin Nabin,” said the BJP leader, adding that a small inaugural program was held at Mr. Nabin’s residence.
The seminar was attended by ministers overseeing departments such as irrigation, rural drinking water and in some cases drinking water and sanitation. Mr. Nabin interacted with the ministers and shared his thoughts.
