The controversy of Bharat Mata refuses to die, because its display in the program, which is attended by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar at Keral University, has triggered high voltage protests and tense Stand-off, which lasted several hours on Wednesday.
The event organized by Sree Padmanabha Samiti in the hall of the Senate of the University of Playam, which marked the 50th anniversary, waded into a controversy over the portrait of Bharat Mat, which appeared for almost a month of rivalry between the state government and Raj Bhavan.
The program, which is to start at 17:30, began an hour late due to the stir surrounding the integration of the portrait.
The university registrar of the KS Anil Kumar had previously ordered the organizers to remove the picture, and warn that the failure would result in the cancellation of the event. However, the organizers refused to observe and claimed that the image was an integral part of their program and was previously used in similar events.
The disagreement was quickly escalated as rival student clothing, including the Indian Federation of Students (SFI), Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Kerala Students Union (KSU), mobilized outside the place.
While the KSU activists encountered ABVP activists and tried to attack the hall, SFI members were involved in a tense throw -in with the police. Several protesters were forcibly removed when warriors broke out near the venue.
Among the participants were the leaders of the BJP leaders, including Kummanam Rajasekharan and S. Suresh, who stood by the organizers. Samiti defended the portrait and said, “We invited the governor as the main guest and has no role in performing the event. The decision to use the image is only ours.”
JS Shijukhan, a member of the JS Shijukhan Syndicate, called the Syndicate to explore this problem. “No illegal or unconstitutional activities cannot be enabled in the area. The university standards must be strictly followed and no unaffected activity will be tolerated,” he said.

The controversy was further intensified by the notes of the Governor, who after the delay came to the stage and condemned the opposition he faced. “I do not understand why there was resistance to speak. There is an unprecedented emergency situation in the state? You have to allow everyone to speak, even if you do not agree with their ideology.
Without the direct name of someone, the governor questioned the culture of intolerance, which he believed was prevailing. “I have no political hostility. I am not a political leader. But it does not mean that confrontation does not mean that I will compromise my thoughts. This type of emergency cannot be tolerated,” he said.
With the protesters of SFI, he laids a siege outside the main gate of the University Directorate, and Governor’s convoy has taken another way to leave the space.
