The forest department was finally captured by a bear, who wandered around the residential areas in Hosapete for several months that caused concerns about the locals.
The operation took place on Thursday evening on Sandur Road on the outskirts of the city.
Forest officials saw a bear, a man weighing around 70 kg, set on a tree near Annaporna.
They quickly ended the area and urged to strengthen. The team from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Zoological Park in Kamalapore, including a veterinarian, arrived with nets and cages.
The veterinarian successfully calmed the bear with an arrow while he was still on the tree, allowing officials to safely overthrow and secure him in a cage.
The Range Kouskik Dalwai forest officer told the media that the bear is known to visit areas like Sanklapura, Cariganur, Rajapura, Joladarashi Hill and Jambunatha Hill.
“It never attacked people, but its frequent appearance caused anxiety among the inhabitants. We tried to capture it and the operation on Thursday evening was successfully completed,” he said.
Sources in the forest department indicated that the bear would undergo a health check before it was temporarily placed in the zoo. After studying his movements and behavior, they then decide on their final edition.
Mr. Dalwai speculated that the presence of a bear in populated areas could be driven by his appetite. He noted that the animal was known to be attracted to a refreshment factory in Sanklapura and it was also found that it would taste oil from lamps in Jambunatha.
“It is difficult to say where it came from or why came here first, but these food sources kept it in this area,” he explained.
The successful operation of the capture was led by a representative of the forest conservation Anupama, a representative of the conservator of the Kamalapura Zoo Rajesh Naik and the assistant of the Bhaskar forest conservator.
