The Mysuru Hotel Owners Association has invited hotel and bakery businessmen in Mysuru to submit applications in the prescribed format to authorized oil marketing companies like IOCL, BPCL and HPCL for direct supply of commercial LPG cylinders.
Association president C. Narayanagowda said in a statement on Sunday that the government has introduced a new measure to address the shortage of LPG cylinders faced by hotel owners, bakery operators and sweet shop owners.
Until now, many entrepreneurs have procured pressure cylinders through sub-dealers or resellers. However, due to the unavailability of pressure cylinders from subdealers, many entrepreneurs were forced to buy them on the black market at high prices. “To eliminate this problem, a system has now been put in place that allows direct purchases of pressure cylinders through authorized dealers,” he said in a statement.
Entrepreneurs should fill the application in the format prescribed by the government, send it to the nearest authorized dealers of IOCL, BPCL or HPCL and deposit ₹2,400 per bottle.
“On receipt of the request, the dealers will inform the concerned head of the LPG division and arrange for direct supply of cylinders to the entrepreneurs,” said Mr. Narayangowda, urging business owners facing shortage of cylinders to take advantage of this opportunity to get cylinders through official channels.
