Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated the Association of former Mysore service forces on Saturday.
It is an annual affair that is celebrated annually on July 26th. Members of the Association made the flower offers of the sculptures of the Field Marshal Km Cariappa to mark this event.
Members of the association took part in the program together with their family members and carried labels and depicted, among other things, paintings of some martyrs of the Kargil War such as Vikram Batra, Sanjay Kumar, Manoj Kumar Pandey and some Gogoi.
They also submitted a memorandum addressed to MLA for Chamaraja Harish Gowda and were looking for a 10% reservation in educational institutions for children of former soldiers. They also pointed out that the state government allocated land for former soldiers, but the practice was released more than 10 years ago. Although the previous government and the current government in the state promised to assign places in cities or villages, according to the association it has not yet been done.
They also regret that although Mysura Dasar is celebrated every year, no government thought it was appropriate to name them to any of the committees that are created to organize the festival.
The government was also invited to issue bus cards to former soldiers throughout the state.
