On Saturday, the collector of TS Chetan watched painted storks in Veerapuram Tank Zone in the Sri Satya Sai district.
The district collector Sri Satya Sai visited Veerapuram and Venkatapuram tanks on Saturday, where thousands of painted parts (red -brown stork) arrived from Siberia for the reproduction period starting from January and ending in August. The villagers informed the collectors that the arrival of migratory birds from Siberia brought them joy and cooperated with the initiatives for nature conservation.
During the interaction with the villagers and forest officials, the collector assumed a number of initiatives aimed at protecting stations and to support tourism in the region. Mr. Chetan demanded intensified programs of afforestation around two focal tanks, except for the grounding of dispensing operations to allow visitors to the retention and construction of basic equipment. He said that without disturbing birds, accommodation and guard towers should be built for tourists and bird observers.
The collector said Chilamathur Mandal became an ecologically important place. “Therefore, the district administration has announced tanks Veerapuram and Venkatapuram as wetlands.
