“Padma pushkarini” or “padma sarovaram”, a temple tank attached to the Tiruchanur Temple Sri Padmavati Ammavari, came alive with reviving flowers and serial lighting of various shades for the annual floating festival “.
It is during this part of the year, when the festival is observed in a tank, which is also supposed to be a divine trip to defeat the goddess summer heat.
Within the morning itinerary, the procedural deity is administered by a heavenly bath using milk, yoghurt, honey, sandal pastes and other aromatic substances. In the evening, the deity is brought in the color procession around the temple to the tank for a big event.
Mythology has that in this “padma sarovaram” the goddess appeared in the golden lotus, and therefore a small village is identified with anything related to Padmavati.
The devotees who gathered around the tank and sat on the stairs leading to the aquatic body, the eyes of the dazzling deity discarded on a thoroughly lit fleet.
