In accordance with the announcement of the main Minister N. Chandrababa Naida this March this year, Andr Pradesh on Tuesday 12th August approved key measures for accredited social health activists (Ashas) – including reward, paid maternity leave and increase their age.
According to an official press release of the Ministry of Health, Medical Education and Family Care, the government will provide a reward of up to 5,000 GBP per year, which at the time of retirement is 1.5 ₹ Lakh. With approximately 43,000 ASHA in the state, annual remuneration for remuneration will be 645 Crore 645 GBP.
The government also sanctioned for six months of paid maternity leave for the first two supplies and increased the retirement age for Ashas from 60 to 62 years-to long-term requirements that led to national protests at the end of 2023.
The Minister of Health, Medical Education and Family Care Satya Kumar Yadav thanked the main minister for sanctioning funds of remuneration despite the financial challenges of the state and noted that the decision reflects a strong commitment to the well -being of ASHA.
