The ‘Amaran’ effect: How a romantic scene causes trouble for this Chennai student
Callers wanted to talk to Sai Pallavi or praise her for her performance.
Soon after Sivakarthikeyan-starrer blockbuster Amaran hit theaters on Deepavali, Vaageesan VV, a city student, was inundated with unexpected calls. Strangely, it has no relation to the film or its cast.
It all started with a scene that doesn’t last more than a few seconds in the movie. In it, heroine Sai Pallavi throws away a crumpled piece of paper with a phone number written on it, which is supposed to lead to actor Sivakarthikeyan. Although one of the numbers is not legible, Mr. Vaageesan says it was his number displayed on the screen. This prompted spontaneous calls from strangers.
