Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar addresses a press conference after the NDA state leadership camp in Kochi on Monday.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kerala President Rajeev Chandrasekhar has blamed the Left Front government for its alleged failure to ensure development of the state during the last 10 years of its rule.

He was speaking at the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) state leadership camp here on Monday (February 16, 2025). Mr. Chandrasekhar said that the Left government was blaming the Union government for its failure to bring development to the state. The Left Front was trying to mislead the public by making such an allegation ahead of the parliamentary elections, he said in a statement.

He claimed that the project to set up the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has not become a reality in the state because the government has not acquired the land in Kozhikode, which was shortlisted along with Madurai in 2017. While the land has been identified in Madurai, the Kerala government is yet to complete the process in Kozhikode, he said.

He accused Devaswom Minister VN Vasavan of failing to protect the Sabarimala temple when he mentioned the gold theft case. He reiterated his demand that the Central Bureau of Investigation investigate the case as his trail stretched across many states.

Thushar Velappally, convenor of NDA unit in Kerala, presided over the mourning.
