
According to the AP report, Anutin Charnviracul, a veteran politician and leader of the Bhumjaithai party, was elected another Prime Minister of Thailand after securing more than 247 votes in parliament.
Chanvirakul won the majority vote in the Thai House of Representatives 5 September, which has 492 active members. The numbers were released by an unofficial sum on the live thai TV and must still be certified, he added.
Charnvirakul and his government will join the office after receiving a formal appointment from King Thailand Maha Vajiralongkorn.
Why was the new PM meetings required?
Charnvirakul’s selection comes after his predecessor Paetongtarn Shinawatra of the Thai side of Pheu, was rejected last week after the guilty of infringement.
Shinawatra, the daughter of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatry, took only a year in the office. It was found to be involved in a telephone call with the Cambodian President of the Senate Hun Sen, which led to a conflict between countries that eventually turned into a five -day armed conflict in July.

Charnviracul, 58, was part of the Shinawatry Cabinet, but withdrew from the coalition government and resigned from his position after the news of the leaked telephone has caused public resistance.
He was among the only five candidates, nominated during the last general elections in 2023, who were eligible according to the constitutional rules of Thailand.
In 2023, he was also part of the coalition government created by Phea’s Thai Party and previously served in a military but elected government under former Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ache.
Charnviracul is best known for successful lobbying for decriminalization of cannabis in Thailand. He also grabbed subtitles as Minister of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic after being accused of retaining the appropriate vaccines.
