In a major move, the state government has revoked the long-standing deputations of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) teachers working in the headquarters and other administrative departments.
TGSWREIS Secretary (FAC) Sharada on Thursday issued orders for the repatriation of about 16 teachers from various cadres to their parent institutions on the instructions of Social Affairs Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar. Teachers’ unions and staff associations welcomed the decision.
The move follows concerns over an acute shortage of teachers in Gurukul institutions, with students reportedly facing problems due to inadequate classroom instruction. At the same time, several teachers continued on deputation to the directorate for extended periods, drawing criticism from unions and sections of the teaching community.
After receiving several representations, the minister directed officials to ensure that teachers return to academic institutions where their services are most needed.
