
Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) Chairman, V. Balakista Reddy on Tuesday said institutions need to move beyond traditional models towards industry-relevant, research-led and socially responsive education.
Addressing the Southern Regional Round Table, Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (SICI), at NALSAR University of Law, Shameerpet on Tuesday, he highlighted the best practices and reforms implemented in the higher education sector in Telangana. He said state policy-driven reforms, institutional coordination and industry alignment have strengthened the higher education ecosystem and could serve as a learning framework for other southern states.
Common challenges facing southern universities, according to Mr Reddy, included the need to strengthen new leadership, reorient academic governance to meet the demands of industry and the future workforce, and improve research, innovation and employability outcomes through collaborative frameworks.
