A Halloween party cost a Texas man his job after his “prank” in a Jager bomber costume was met with unrest by attendees. The man, Anthony Bianchi, is originally from Texas of Italian descent.
He was dressed like a Middle Eastern man – in a thawb, head covering and beard. Bianchi was wearing a black vest with four cans of Red Bull and two bottles of Jagermeister. He completed his “terrorist” look with two fake guns.
Bianchi and his Halloween look for this year went viral on social media.

What happened:
An Amarillo man was fired from his job after showing up to a company Halloween party dressed as a terrorist, according to a viral LinkedIn post.
The post, quoting Anthony Bianchi, said his costume upset and disturbed visitors. However, he claimed it was meant to be funny and harmless.
“…but once he arrived at the party, most of the attendees were upset and uncomfortable,” the viral post said.

“I learned my lesson”: Anthony Bianchi
Anthony Bianchi called the incident an “unfortunate misunderstanding” and said he had now learned his lesson.
“The whole thing is an unfortunate misunderstanding. The whole joke is that I’m a Jäger bomber,” he said. He emphasized that he was Italian and not Middle Eastern. “I’m not even from that part of the world—I’m Italian raised in Texas.
“I thought the people I worked with were fun and cool, but I think they’re far from that. Looks like I’ve learned my lesson,” Bianchi said.

The last straw
While the termination of Anthony Bianchi may seem like an extreme step, the company clarified in a statement that it was the last straw for them, given his behavior.
The company said there is no place for abusive or inappropriate behavior in its business. They also claimed that this was not Bianchi’s first run-in with HR. Last year, he allegedly asked an employee if he could “take some of her milk.”
Here’s how netizens reacted:
Social media users had a mixed reaction to Bianchi’s outfit; while some believed it was a really funny act, others said it’s not funny these days.
“I’d say that’s why I’ve never liked office parties. You can never be sure if someone will overhear your casual conversation and someone won’t find it offensive,” said one netizen.
Another added: “It was a Halloween party.”
“Lol if I was currently hiring this guy would be at the top of my list. People need to lighten up and relax,” said the user.
“It’s not funny at all these days,” the user said.
“People displaying fake firearms at parties may be asked to leave. Dressing like that is NOT a joke. It’s very bad,” another user added.
