Among the victims are those who are from states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Bihar and Tamil Nadu.
On April 23, Kashmir observed a complete shutdown in a show of solidarity and outrage, as protests broke out throughout the region to condemn the brutal attack.

Meanwhile, when a gathering in Bihar addressed on Thursday, PM Modi said he wanted the world to know that India would identify and punish every terrorist.
He made it clear that they would be punished outside their imagination behind the terrorist attack by Pahalgam and those who are part of the conspiracy.
PM Modi said that the whole nation is grinded by the brutality with which terrorists killed innocent civilians, mostly tourists, in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.

“Today, from Bihar, I say to India around the world, will identify, follow and punish every terrorist and their supporters,” Modi said in English.
PM Modi also stated: “Terrorism will not be punished. All efforts will be made to ensure that justice will be done. The whole nation is firm in this determination.”
How did India react?
The decision to downgrade diplomatic ties with Pakistan with regard to cross -border links to the attack of Pahalgam were adopted at the Cabinet for Security (CCS), chaired by PM Modi 23 April.
