On Friday (May 2, 2025), the European Union (EU) called on new Delhi and Islamabad to show “restraint” and seek dialogue to defuse the tension in speculation about the possible retaliation of India against Pakistan with regard to cross -border links to the terrorist attack of Pahalgam.
After separate telephone interviews with the Minister of the External Affairs S. Jaishankar and Deputy Prime Minister Pakistan Ishaq Dar, a high representative of the EU for foreign affairs Kaja Kallas said that the growing tension between the two neighboring countries is “alarming” and the escalation of the situation is helping “no one”.

“The growing tension between India and Pakistan is alarming. I urge both sides to show restrictions and follow the dialogue to facilitate the situation. The escalation does not help anyone,” she said in the X post.
“Today I talked to @DRSJAISHANKAR and @mishaqdar50 to mediate these messages,” she added.
Jaishankar welcomed the “strong conviction” of the EU terrorism in all forms and manifestations.

The EU call to restrict India and Pakistan came two days after US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio called on both countries to cooperate on the de-academic of tensions over the terrorist attack of Pahalgam.
Mr. Rubio spoke with Prime Minister Pakistan Shehbaz ShaRIF and Dr. Jaishankarem on Wednesday (April 30, 2025) in the middle of the tension escalation between two neighboring countries during April 22, Pahalgam, in which 26 people were killed, mostly tourists.
India, quoting “cross -border ties” with a terrible attack, promised serious punishment to those involved in it.
On Tuesday (April 29, 2025) on Tuesday (April 29, 2025) at a high level with the highest defensive brass, armed forces, according to government sources, had “complete operational freedom” of the armed forces to decide on the regime, goals and timing of India’s reaction to terrorist attack.
The Prime Minister confirmed that it was a national determination to mention sources after the meeting.
India 23rd April announced a number of repressive measures against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Waters contract, and concluded the only operating transition of the ground border between the two countries in the Attari Pandjab and the reduction of diplomatic links, with regard to cross -border links to Pahalgam attack.
In response to Pakistan, Pakistan closed his air space on the Indian plane and suspended all India trade, including third countries.
Pakistan also rejected the Indian Indian Indian Waters contract and said any step towards stopping the flow of water would be considered a “war act”.
On Friday (May 2, 2025), Dr. Jaishankar also with the Swiss federal Radec Ignazio Cassis and discussed the attack of Pahalgam.
“They thanked him for his support and solidarity. We agreed on zero tolerance of terrorism,” the Minister said in a social media post.
