The Minister of the Interior of the Union AMIT Shah rushed to Srinagar on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) after a targeted terrorist attack against tourists in Pahalgam South Kashmir.
At least 26 persons were killed in the attack, including a foreigner and an official of the intelligence office who was on holiday, said the Hindu government source.

The official IB Manish Ranjan, published as ministerial staff in Hyderabad, was reportedly shot in front of his wife and children, said the source.
Mr. Shah was informed about the security situation after his arrival at Srinagar Airport by the CEO of Police Nalin Prarabhat. The Minister is likely to visit Pahalgam, a scene of a terrorist attack on Wednesday.
Mr. Shah was accompanied by Governor Lieutenant Manoj Sinha, who was in Delhi at the time of the attack. The next round of safety review was on Raj Bhavan in Srinagar until late Tuesday.
Before his departure, Mr. Shah published X: “The amazing terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with family members of the deceased. Those who are involved in this dark act of terror will not be spared and we will descend with the perpetrators with the most clear consequences.”
The Minister added that he informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently in Saudi Arabia during an official visit to the incident. Mr. Modi spoke to the minister and urged him to take the necessary steps and visit the place.
Among the injured was a 83 -year -old tourist from Tamil Nad and a 65 -year -old woman from Odisha. Among the killed was the local Syed Hussain Shah, the inhabitants of Anantnag. At least 16 people were killed on the spot while others succumbed to the hospital.
The attack claimed the Resistance Queue (TRF), the frontal clothing of Pakistan was supported by the terrorist groups of Lashkar-E-Taba (years). The group was created in August 2019 after the abolition of Article 370 to escape the international inspection.

The attack comes after Mr. Shah checked the security situation in J&K on 7-8. April after the incident on March 27 in Kathhua Jammu, when a group of freshly infiltrated unidentified terrorists killed four police officers. Two terrorists were killed at the meeting, while at least three are still escapes as the search operation continues.
Although there were sporadic attacks in the Kashmir Valley, since 2021 there was a permanent offer to revive militance in the Jammu region after a special state of Jamm and Kashmir (J&K) pursuant to Article 370 of the Institute 5 August 2019.
This is the first major terrorist attack against civilians in the valley since 2019.
