Jammu and Kashmir were not on the original list of honeymoon sites for Lieutenant Vinay Narwal and his wife Himanshi. The duo planned to go Switzerland, but when their visa was refused, instead ended up in Pahalgam. Six days after the node binding, their idyllic holiday ended in the “Mini Switzerland” tragedy when Vinay was killed by terrorists during Tuesday’s attack.
“Getting a holiday for the Switzerland trip was not a big problem. But they had to change their plans because of the rejection of visas,” Vinay’s grandfather Hawa Singh said, adding that his grandson would still be with them if he was given a Swiss visa.
Shot in ‘mini Switzerland’
The couple left their home Karnal Sector 7 21. April, two days after a wedding reception party to take the flight to Jammu and Kashmir of Delhi. On the way to the airport, the duo was visited by Himanshi’s parents in their 47 gurogram sector and spent several hours with them.
The couple had refreshments when terrorists descended to the picturesque Baisaran valley, also known as “Mini Switzerland”, and shot Vinay Dead.
In the video that became a viral consequence of the attack, Himanshi may be heard that he shot her husband to the locals. “I ate Bhelpuri and my husband stood by my side. The man came and shot him. The man said he (Vinay) wasn’t a Muslim and shot him,” Himanshi says in the video, telling about horror.
“Pakistan should be destroyed”
Vinay went to school in Karnal before moving to Delhi for university education. According to his relatives, he was always fascinated by the armed forces and wanted to serve his country. The 26 -year -old officer joined the Navy three years ago and was promoted to a year back.
One of Vinay’s relatives Raghubir Singh, who spoke to journalists in family Karnal Residence, said he couldn’t put his grief in words. “I want Pakistan to learn such a lesson that he doesn’t even think about sending terrorists to India. It should be destroyed,” the older man said. Soon after the news of the attack broke, Vinaay’s father, sister and son -in -law rushed into Pahalgam.
Navy condolence
A spokesman for the Indian Navy published a report of X and at this point of unimaginable grief “and expanded all naval staff” sincere condolences to his family. “
Minister Haryana Nayab Singh Saini also spoke with the family of the late officer during the day and offered his deepest condolences.
The last ceremonies were planned to be carried out in his native village in Karnal on Wednesday evening.
