The voltage prevailed on the campus of English and foreign languages (EFLU) in Hyderabad on Tuesday (October 7, 2025) in the evening after the confrontation between two student groups during a gathering held in solidarity with Palestine.
According to officials, around 18:15 October 7, a group of nearly 100 students led by a student organization, including Vikas, Deena, Shaheen, Aardhra and Noor, carried out a assembly inside the campus without obtaining previous university authorities.
Students lifted the slogans to support Palestine and against Israel, showed Palestinian flags and posters and put them on the wall of the dining room with the words “Eflu for Palestine”.
Soon thereafter, another group of about 30 students belonging to another student organization led by Abhishek and Sumith, protested against posters and tried to remove them. This has led to heated arguments and shouting between the two groups, with the slogans from both sides.
The situation briefly changed before the police arrived and the matter was under control. On the basis of a complaint from the EFL registrar, the police registered the Osmania University case against both groups. Further investigation is currently underway.
