
Murali Naik of Andhra Pradesh, who laid his life during the cross -border shelling in Jammu and Kashmiro Poonch, joined the armed forces against his father’s wishes on Friday. Naik, 23 years, wanted to serve the nation by dressing the army uniform.
“Murali’s goal was to serve the country. He joined the army despite my opposition. He just wanted to wear the uniform of the army for at least a year,” said Shiram Naik, Murali’s father told journalists in his residence at Nagar in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. He said that Murali had undergone military training in Deolaali in Nashic and was his only son.
Murali, who was selected in the army as Agniveer in 2022, died in the line of duty in the first hours of Friday in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.
Although Murali was sent in Jamm and Kashmir during the “Sindoor Operation”, he told his parents that he was placed in a pandjab not to panic with regard to the prevailing Indo-Pak conflict, he added.
