
Jannik Sinner hopes that Novak Djokovic will not end his career and claimed that tennis needed a Serbian star after defeating him to achieve the final of the French Open 2025. Sinner shot down Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) at the Philippe-Chamrier court In three hours and 16 minutes to establish a collision with Carlos Alcaz in the final. After completing the match, Djokovic seemed emotional and put his kitbag and waved in the crowd when he ended.
Former World No. 1 touched the court, suggesting that it could be his last match in Roland Garros. Shinner said at a press conference that it is always nice to see Djokovic in the dressing room and described it as a model for the younger generation of players.
“First, we hope it is not. I feel that tennis needs him … have someone else than younger guys … my opinion … It’s so nice to see him in the dressing room and have this energy of everything. I’d like to be part of it.
“People don’t see Djokovic really”
Sinner spent time with Djokovic as he broke into the ATP Tour scene and trained with Serbian in Monaco. When Sinner asked what he had learned from the former world No. 1, he said he had raised many things from Djokovich and the Serbian legend had always answered him honestly.
Sinner also claimed that people from outside had a different picture of Djokovic. He said Serbian is a very kind person and at the time you need it, he is very kind and helpful. Italian said Djokovic is very important to him as a player and as a man.
“Many things. I was lucky to train with him when I was very young. We practiced a lot in Monaco. Every time I asked questions, he answered me in a very honest way. It’s very nice.
Sinner will face Alcaraz on Sunday 8th June in the Men’s final.
