Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy denied that he was trying to erase the reputation of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao from the history of Telangana, saying in a sarcastic tone that he would ensure that corruption, misappropriation of public funds, false passport allegations and exploitation of Telangana remain etched in the state’s annals forever.

Addressing a public meeting at Parigi in Vikarabad district, the chief minister said it was his responsibility to ensure that all wrongdoings of KCR were remembered and no one could erase the memory of “ten years of loot” during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) rule.

Reacting strongly to BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao’s criticism of the notices issued to KCR in the wiretapping case, he asked if it was wrong to serve a notice to a former chief minister accused of wiretapping. He recalled that former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar had himself spoken about the fake currency case involving KCR.

He said that KCR had betrayed the Dalits but the Congress government had given Dalits key constitutional positions, including the post of Speaker, and alleged that this was one of the reasons why KCR was avoiding the assembly.

The chief minister also targeted the BJP and warned voters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not address local civic issues even if the BJP won power in the municipal elections. He alleged that the BRS and the BJP had entered into a secret electoral pact to defeat the Congress and alleged that BJP candidates were receiving support from BRS offices.

Playing on the sentiments of the farmers of Rangareddy area, Mr. Revanth Reddy accused KCR of deliberately delaying the Pranahita–Chevella project, which worsened the plight of the people of the drought-prone Rangareddy area. He said a cornerstone near Chevella stood as evidence. He asked BRS chief Sabitha Indra Reddy why she could not get approval to complete the Chevella project despite her claim that she had joined BRS to develop Rangareddy.

Mr. Revanth Reddy assured that land acquisition for Lakshmi Devi Palli reservoir would be completed soon and announced plans to bring Godavari water to Parigi, Tandur and Vikarabad while Krishna water would be diverted to Makthal, Narayanpet and Kodangal, benefiting nearly 1.5 lakh acres.

Highlighting infrastructure development, he said long-pending roads like APPA Junction–Manneguda were expedited after resolution of court cases and work on Tandur, Regional Ring and Radial roads would be completed soon.
